Doug Hammer is a PGA professional and has experience with golfers of all levels from all over the world. His client list consists of beginners to top ranked amateurs and professional players. His philosophy is simplethere is no perfect swing for everyone. Doug is a student of the game and studies every technique to be able to help every golfer, no matter what they may be working on or learning. In addition to helping grow the game of golf through coaching, Doug was one of the first Callaway Certified Master Fitters in the United States and conducts custom clubfittings in the Callaway Performance Center at Troon North. It is important to have equipment that fits your gameif you are playing equipment that is not correct for you, you may be able to improve your scores by improving the clubs you play.

Doug Hammer is a Class A member of the Southwest Section of the PGA of America and is the 2019 Southwest PGA Youth Player Development Award winner. Since 1999, Doug has worked for Troon Golf in various capacities and has been a PGA member since 2001. Originally from a small community in southeast Iowa, Doug came to Arizona in 1997 to enter the golf business. Doug began with Troon Golf at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa as an assistant golf professional and began teaching as much as possible. In 2001, he became the head golf professional at The Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, CA and in 2002, the Director of Instruction at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa in Galena, IL where Doug began working with Troon Golf Director of Education and Top 100 teacher, Tim Mahoney. Doug spent four years as the Director of Instruction at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ, prior to coming to Troon North in December of 2007. He also has international experience working as Director of Instruction for the David Duval Golf Academy in Miyazaki, Japan, and the Banyan Tree Club and Spa in Seoul, South Korea.

Doug is a regular contributor to Golf Tips Magazine and is recognized as one of their Top 30 instructors. Doug is also a 7-time GRAA Top 50 Growth of the Game award winner, the 2019 Southwest PGA Youth Player Development Award winner, and has been nominated for Southwest Section Teacher of the Year each of the past 3 years.
