Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Collin Woods is a first-generation golfer with a successful junior career and brief college career stinted due to back injury. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelors degree in Finance.
His passion for golf transitioned from competition to teaching in 2012. Between 2012 and 2019 at Gleneagles Country Club and Dallas National Golf Club, Collin worked closely as a student and apprentice of Top 100 Teacher in America Chris Como, immersing himself in a philosophy of holistic instruction focusing on biomechanics, golf technology, exercise physiology, injury prevention, course strategy, nutrition and wellness, and the psychology of optimal performance.
Currently the Head Golf Professional of NEXUS GOLF NYC, Collin draws upon his years of experience being around several of the worlds top instructors, researchers and PGA Tour Players in his non-dogmatic holistic approach.
Collin holds certifications in GEARS 3D Optical Motion Capture, Trackman, Swing Catalyst Ground Reaction Forces (Level 1), Forces and Motion: Kinetics and Kinematics from Dr. Sasho Mackenzie and Dr. Phil Cheetham, and has experience working with the DECADE course management strategy of Scott Fawcett and Bio Swing Dynamics screening process of Top 50 Golf Teacher in America, Mike Adams.
